Wicked Warmth
He came to meet me yesterday. We went to a nearby coffee shop, sat on an isolated yet tranquil table by the window and stirred our silence in the coffee. It's been months since we last met but as I gazed into his eyes, all our memories turned into moments and all our moments turned into a yesterday's thing. He looked at me straight in the eye, consoling me with the serenity in his eyes, offering me love and warmness. But it made me go all awkward and nervy as I've moulded myself to fit in the pain and darkness. I can't explain the kind of warmth the touch of his cold hands gave to me that I melted in a jiffy, broke down in his arms and shredded the peel of my loneliness.
I told him how the seasons were all ruthless without him, solitary and never ending, how my eyes got frozen, waiting for his return and how the rain used to help me forget his innocent guilt saints but I didn't tell him that I loved him, throughout, everything but not love. I know he will stay with me for a plenty of days, until the curve on my face goes up and perfect again, I know that we're going to make memories, enough that I can cherish them for a lifetime but I know as soon as I will get habitual of him, one dreadful night will come, while the world would be awake and celebrating, lightened and geared, we both will lie down on the grass somewhere in the dark, drinking wine and humming those beats of melancholy, I would hold his hand a little tighter than ever and he would caress my hair, get up and say "I will be back in a minute, honey" I will know that it's time for his departure but that faint ray of hope will stop me from bidding Goodbye to him. And after that, I'll be hugging nothing but our memories whisked in sadness, all aloof and alone. "Hello there, December, none of them makes me as comfortable as you do."
